Hello all!
Am planning a trip to Paris in the winter time frame and these two hotels in particular have vaught my eye. They have both received EXCELLENT reviews and seem to have a charm to them that I am looking for in Paris.
I was wondering if anyone here could chime in here with their experiences.
We are looking for a comfortable, spacious, clean hotel with a friendly English speaking staff, and also location that allows us to explore the city or just to wander the nearby blocks to find excellent eateries.
Thanks for the help!!!

Le Walt is in the 7th district whereas the Bassano is in the 16th and both are closeby the Eiffel Tower. Haven%26#39;t stayed at either hotel, but I have stayed in the 16th before. I found it to be too quiet. Same with the 7th it%26#39;s very residential. Nothing is wrong with being quiet but at night if you want alot of nightlife and restaurant/cafe choices you may prefer staying elsewhere such as the 4th, 5th, or 6th districts.

Since you suggest such districts, what hotels in the same price style range do you suggest in these areas?
Thanks!

We stayed at the Le Walt last September %26amp; we were very happy with it. Very close to the metro, and right accross the street from Rue Cler. I would rate the hotel as a five star. The difference between a four and five for myself is the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff, and the staff at the Le Walt were great.
The only negative is that it is right above the Subway, and you can hear the trains even on the sixth floor. They stop running around 11 or 12, so you do have some quiet. The wife %26amp; I always bring ear plugs and sleeping pills to Europe. It is better to have ear plugs with you and not need them, than to need them and not have them.

I have stayed at these hotels which I liked alot for location and service:
4th: Hotel de Lutece and Hotel des Deux Iles (same owner)
www.paris-hotel-lutece.com
(Lutece was remodeled in March this year but not the Deux Iles)
5th: Relais Saint Jacques
www.paris-hotel-saintjacques.com
6th: www.hotelverneuil.com
www.hotelverneuil.com
(Elevator starts on the 1st floor not the ground floor/lobby, rooms are very tiny in single and standard rooms, a/c in some standard and all deluxe rooms, top floor room has most light with three large windows)

I ended up staying at the Henry IV Rive Gauche and am looking forward to the location it offers!
Thanks for the help!
