Hey, my girlfriend and I are going to paris in the midle of August. It%26#39;s our first time in paris and we aren%26#39;t that sure of where to stay. Could anyone suggest what area we should base ourselves? Also i would be grateful if you could suggest some reasonably priced hotels that are clean and in a good location.
many thanks

Reasonably priced (to me) doubles are at:
Hotel Britannique (very well located in center of town) at about 168 euros.
Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche, also very well located in the 5th arr., similarly priced
Hotel Muguet in the 7th, less than the others but not as central
Hotel de Varenne in the 7th, ditto
If you need something cheaper, there are options as well. But in Paris the mid-100s for a double is pretty reasonable.

I recommend this hotel for cleanliness, value for money and wonderful location close to pedestrian street, food market, lots of café, restaurants, bistros.
