Is it true that RER C is closed untill late August???
I was counting on using this line to get from CDG to Varenne!
HELP!

Not sure where Varenne is but the RER C is closed between Austerlitz and Invalides. A bus does run to replace the service but it is better to reroute if possible. The RER C will also be closed between * Argenteuil et Ermont Eaubonne from the 9th of July to the 11th of August and the 16 of August to the 25th and between Argenteuil and Gennevilliers from the 12th to the 15th of August.

Varenne is on line 13, just south of invalides. Do you have any suggestions for a better route? Is the Buss a really bad idea?
Thanks

Ah okay right , I always forget about that stop! So Heres the problem with that bus, it tends to be over crowded and traffic is often bad. Plus once you take the bus you still need to take the metro again. I dont know how much luggage you have but thats alot of stairs. You may want to consider remaining on the RER B and getting off at Luxembourg. You could then take the escalator all the way to street level and switch to the Bus number 84. This has a stop called Varenne-Raspail at the corner of Rue Varenne. Not sure how close that is to your destination but it appears to be fairly close to the metro stop. For a map of bus line 84 go here:

Note, you will need a seperate ticket to take the bus. You can either buy it directly from the driver with a small bill or change or you can buy it in the metro stop on your way out.

CDG to Gare Montparnasse on Air France coach line 4 (12€) then metro line 13 to Varenne.
CDG-RER to Gare du Nord (8€), then metro line 4 to Strasbourg-St Denis, change to metro line 8 to Latour Maubourg, on same RER ticket.

Bus #82 is also an option from Luxembourg, with a nice, scenic route.

Does my RER Ticket double as my metro ticket for the same trip or do I have to buy a new one if I continue on a metro line? Is a bus the same?
|||
The RER ticket covers your connection in Paris, as long as you don%26#39;t exit the subway system. I believe this means that you would need a separate ticket for the bus.
