Hi, me again. I%26#39;m after anywhere that%26#39;s good to see some live music. Again, anywhere along the Cote D%26#39;Azur is fine really, although the closer to Nice the better as I suspect we%26#39;ll be travelling by train.
The Nice Jazz Festival is on so we have that available to us, but are there any other more rock/pop venues around at all?
Thanks again.

You can hear lots of live music in Juan-les-Pins, easly accessible from Nice by train.
|||
quite often live bands in the outdoor arena at Jardin Albert 1er , the park near the promenade. just depends on timing of your trip, good luck
|||
If you are around on 8th August an old band you may have heard of are playing live at the Nikaia - the Rolling Stones.
The best way to know who and whats on in terms of big events/ named artists/ festivals is to drop into the ticket agency section of FNAC or Virgin when in Nice. Every event ahead is posted up there and you can buy tickets
.
Online they list every forthcoming scheduled event: including all the festivals
ch.fnacspectacles.com/descente.do…
For non-name artists/ pub bands etc there a couple of places in the Rue de la Prefecture
Cheers

Sorry ignore that link unless you want to go to Switzerland
.All the rock/pop/hazz seasonal festivals are here for France:

big thanks to %26quot; Nice life%26quot;...we are going to be in Nice on 8/8 for 4 nights and saw your post for the concert and the site.......I just got 2 tickets to the Rolling Stones!!!!
i could hardly believe that just 2 weeks away we could get the tkts and good seats!
they just announced NY shows at madison square garden that are impossible to get unless you pay over $500 !

Delighted to be of assistance (and made four old British rockers just a tiny bit richer!)
Just a bit of travel advice by the way - I ve been to concerts there myself and learned the hard way -
Most convenient access from Nice to Palais Nikiai - which is 8 km away in the Var valley about a kilometre north of Nice airport, is via the special bus route number 95. This runs only when there is a spectacle, and guarantees you a reliable return to central Nice whenever the concert finishes, no missing the encores, for only 1.30 euro each way.
The acoustics of the Palais are the best I have heard, effortless perfection, an absolutely outstanding concert venue.
Address: Palais Nikiai, Rue de Grenoble, Nice 0620.
The 95 special Lignes d%26#39;Azur service two hours before concert starts, every 10 minutes, starting Defly/ St Roch Hospital Nice
Website: http://www.nikaia.fr/
There, what more can you ask for - room service? Have a great night
Cheers

some more excellent advise!! thanks again.
on my confirmation it state (STADE CHARLES EHRMANN (NICE)
is this the same venue as the Palais Nikiai??or is that the stop for the bus?
we will be staying at the Hotel Grimaldi ( as per tripadvisor good reviews)
|||
Stade Charles Erhman is the football stadium next door to the Nikiai - I think they open up the side to get many more people in and create a joint venue.
Its the same location all right.

Andrew your depth of knowledge is amazing. Keep up the good work !
