Question renting apartment from "Vacation In Paris" agency

Has anyone ever rented an apartment from %26quot;Vacation In Paris.com%26quot;? If so, did you have good luck with them? Looking to rent a one bedroom apartment to surprise my husband with a trip to Paris. Can anyone recommend a one bedroom that they have rented thru this agency? Thanks in advance.

There have been several discussions about this company here so it might be a good idea to do a search. I%26#39;ve rented from them twice. First time we had the Louvre Loft. Really liked that apartment and the area was good for everything we wanted. The 2nd time we had the Garden Studio in the 7th. This apartmetn would be fine in warm weather as it has a cute little patio. We were there in freezing weather so we could not enjoy the patio and since the apartment is on the ground floor it felt a little dark to me. That apartment is right around the corner from Rue Cler so it is another great location.

Vacationinparis is an easy company to work with and we had no problems with anything.

I always have priorities in mind when searching for an apartment. We are getting to a point of not wanting to climb a lot of stairs at the end of the day. I don%26#39;t want to sleep on a Sofabed or climb up into a loft. Check out the location carefully. An all night pub below would not be fun for me.

I have read as many posts about apartments that I could find here, plus the recommendations from Paris Notes and posted a question about the differences between the agencies. Travelnutty answered that one and has rented apartments all over Europe. That post said they preferred to rent driectly from an owner. I then went to various rental sites trying to compare what was on offer. Vacation in Paris had some nice units but I ended up renting from Isabelle at apartment-in-france. We have not travelled yet but I will post my experience when I return. So far, she has been most responsive and helpful.

I would do as the last poster suggested, read about the units carefully. One I saw, don%26#39;t remember which site, as I went to so many, was on r. de le Huchette, on the 1st floor, facing the street. I know this street is extremely busy at all hours from either garbage and delivery trucks in the early am and revelers late at night. So ask questions before you rent. Some agencies require that you have %26#39;holiday insurance%26#39; that covers your liability for the unit. Some owners won%26#39;t meet you at certain times/days. Just do your research carefully and you should get a winner.

The first time we tried to rent an apartment in Paris the first few places I contacted required that someone from their co. meet us at the apartment and since we were arriving late on a Sunday they were not willing to meet us. That is what prompted me to use vacationinparis in the first place. I have looked at thousands of apartments and I won%26#39;t say their apartments look as nice as many others, but having the keys sent 2 weeks prior to leaving and being able to pay by credit card in American money sold me on this company.

I rented from Vacations in Paris last year. Overall was a great experience. We rented #65, Heart of the Marais. For us it was great. The location made it so we could walk almost everywhere. It%26#39;s about an hours walk to the Eiffel tower, about 20 min%26#39;s to the Louvre, 10 or so to Notre Dame.

The apt was on the second floor, so up one set of stairs - bedroom was in the loft - so another set. If stairs are a problem for you this one might not be the best.

We always felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood as two women.

Transaction with Vacations in Paris was easy. They could not send us the keys before we left as someone had forgotten to return some so new locks were being put in. The apt owner met us at the apt when we arrived and showed us around and gave us the keys. No problems at all. Apt was clean, and the basics were there, but nothing overly fancy. I cant say the decoration was really to my taste, but we did not really spend much time at the Apt. It was great to get up in the AM and be able to have tea/coffee before getting dressed for the day. You will have to visit a grocery store to pick up any food items you want, and to replenish things like TP, soap, dishsoap. There was both a TV which we turned on once, and a DVD player which we did not use at all.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
