Hi. We are staying at the Hotel Welcome for 5 nights in August?
Do ya%26#39;ll think that we are going to miss not having a pool or do we need really need one? Can you just walk across the street and go to the beach? Do we need a car? Do we need reservations for L%26#39;oursin?
Thanks for advice. I would appreciate it!

There is excellent swimming in the sheltered, tide free bay within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The sea front restaurants will be busy in the evenings in August. My advice would be to stroll along and reserve for that evening if you want to be certain of getting a table at a particular time at Oursin Bleu or elsewhere.
Unless you want to go inland, in my opinion a car is just a nuisance. We had a car last August as we had an elderly relative with us and it was sometimes impossible to park within a twenty minute walk of our flat, which is close to the Welcome. The train to Nice takes 8 minutes, a journey which can take up to an hour by car on an August weekend.
I know that in Texas it is more important to have a car than a pair of legs for getting around but Villefranche is quite the opposite.

Artchick5,
How much are you paying and when you are going? We are heading that way for honeymoon end of August, so just curious to how you booked it and what you are paying.
Thanks,
Christian
