St-Tropez recommended restaurants

Could you possibly give me any recommendations about restaurants in Saint Tropez and its area? I am spending there a long weekend with husband and friends and %26#39;d like to taste the best!!! Thks in advance.

L%26#39;Escale and Villa Romana were my favorite two restaurants

|||

L%26#39;escale has been taken over by Josephs now and is getting mixed reports. As it is difficult to know anybody%26#39;s choice your best bet it to do as everybody else does. Stroll up and down looking at the menus until you see something you like. The restaurants on the front are more expensive than if you go back a street or two. For what it is worth on the front my current favourite is Le Marine, it is red about a restaurant or two down from Le Senquier. If you want somewhere quieter the restaurants in the square by La Ponche hotel overlooking the fishing port are worth looking at. Whatever you decide I%26#39;m sure you will have a great time.

L%26#39;Escale is the new hot-ticket place--but it is way overpriced--and that%26#39;s saying a lot in St. Tropez.

On the side streets in the flat part of town is Cote Sud. No roof, just a big courtyard sheltered by a tree. Place is quiet, tourists aren%26#39;t walking by a staring in (big stone wall) and the prices are average for this town, but the food is excellent.

We were in St. Tropez in June and had a look at Le Marine. There wasn%26#39;t a soul there (for lunch, around 13:00) ~ well, apart from staff. We ended up at Le Girelier, they specialize in fish and seafood. It was excellent and good ambiance too.

I too like the restaurants near La Ponche. However, they are by no means quiet!! There is constant music from street musicians. Some people like it. I don%26#39;t.

If you%26#39;re looking for a quiet restaurant--it does not exist.

If you%26#39;re looking for the worst restaurant in the world, try La Romana.

If you want a great restaurant, you%26#39;re in the wrong place.

Try Club 55, just north of St Tropez and said to be made famous by Brigitte Bardot. Beautiful beach and great place to spend the day.

Villa Romana does generate strong reactions. You either love it or hate it, as the above post attest.

You might want to go and have a drink to check out the vibe before you admit to your very necessary reservation.
