In reading all the posts recently about the different Paris apartment rental companies, what are the actual differences, other than individual perception? I figured out one difference in that one-parisapartments- apparently requires %26#39;holiday rental insurance%26#39; to cover your liability in case anything happens to the rental apartment while you are renting it. Whereas apartment-in-france, doesn%26#39;t, as it%26#39;s included inthe rental price. What are other differences?

wel, with some, you%26#39;re dealing directly with the owners - and with others you go through an agency. Sometimes it%26#39;s cheaper to deal directly with the owner and can get responses quicker (but not always). Agencies have a reputation (and assets) to protect so they tend to have more legalities....like signed contracts, security deposits etc..but not all do.
It%26#39;s a case of trawl through the websites and compare. I have used VRBO and Lodgis and stayparis.com and haven%26#39;t had to pay holiday rental insurance. I%26#39;ve not had to pay a security deposit either, although on the second trip I was going to have to pay E700 - then the owner contacted me and told me that I didn%26#39;t have to any more...that made me happy!

Also, some have certain office hours and you must accommodate your arrival to their schdule, whereas others provide a meet and greet at the apartment.
I have rented places throughout Europe and have found that the best deals come when you deal directly with the owners or an agency that puts you in direct contact with the owners.

Sandra %26amp; phread,
Thanks for the answers and your experience. It just seems that there are so many out there and it%26#39;s rather overwhelming.

hi,
i know what you mean, and dont know if this helps- but i found - %26quot;Vacation in Paris%26quot; to be the best !
why ? they send you keys to your home before you leave !! no need to wait for someone or go to an office !
plus their pre-deaprture money transactions were simply great and clear... they just %26#39; hold an amount%26#39; on yr card... and as long as no damamge.. then Voila ! thats it !
i will never stay in hotels again ! i also just leanred they have FREE no charge calls to all the USA !... can%26#39;t beat that !...
i hope this helps...
bon voyage!
