Disneyland Paris - Chatelet RER or CDG/Etoile RER station?

Hi, we%26#39;re going to Disneyland Paris one of the days that we will be in Paris and will be staying at the K%26amp;K Cayre.

Which would be the best (read easiest) RER station for us to navigate to get from the metro part to the RER part of the station.

I%26#39;ve read Chatelet is very large so I%26#39;m thinking of going from CDG/Etoile? [line 12 from rue de bac to Concorde then line 1 to CDG/Etoile Metro then change to RER A4 ]

So, I guess my question is how to I get from the metro part of Charles De Gaule/Etoile station to the RER part?

You%26#39;re right Chatelet is very large and quite confusing so it will be easier to find the RER A at Charles de Gaule Etoile. Finding the RER A from line 1 is really easy just follow the signs. The RER A is usually marked with a red circle with a red A in it, although the color can vary depending on the metro station.

Make sure you keep your ticket as you will have to use it to exit the metro portion and to enter the RER portion of the station

Nice hotel. A friend stayed there and enjoyed it. If I were you I would walk down blvd st germain to the St germain metro stop on the line 4. I would then take the line 4 to Chatelet or Les Halles. Either way the connection between the Line 4 and the RER are not a very long walk and are well marked. Would be much faster and more agreeable than what you are talking about. The connection from the Line 1 to the RER at Etoile is actually a further walk than what you would walk at Chatelet.

Hey thanks for the info both of you! Upon reflection MorganB I will take the Chatelet option if it is easier and takes less changes.

However just in case we end up losing time inside Chatelet by trying to find the RER portion and come out onto street level of the Chatelet station ----- then which street has the stairs/escalators which will take you directly down to the RER portion of the Chatelet station.

[I%26#39;m only asking because DH has less sense of direction than me! + he can go for hours without agreeing to stop and ask a bypasser for directions!] :)

There are so many entrances to chatelet that its hard to explain. Perhaps someone else could tackle that one.

However, If you take the line 4, and get off at Les Halles, you would then follow the sign to RER B which is a red B in a circle. You will need to use your ticket that you used to get on at St Germain to enter the RER area so keep it handy. Once in the RER area follow the signs to RER B Marne La Vallee. Sometimes the signs will mention Disney also. This area is basically a large circular room with lots of little shops and colomns in the middle giving it a maze like feeling. Just keep in mind that all the RER entrances are on the sides of the room. Look up above your head and follow the arrows to the RER. Its really quite easy. I dont think you could get lost if you read the signs carefully.

If you get off of line 4 at Chatelet, You would take the stairs down from the platform which leads you to a hall, turn right when you exit the stairs then go to the end of the hall. At the end of the hall turn left and walk straight ahead. This will take you to the RER turnstiles, insert ticket, walk through and follow signs to RER B Marne La Valllee.

NOTE: Not ALL RER B go to Disney. Look above your head on the RER platform. You will see a sign that has all the stops listed. If the Disney stop has a white or glowing dot by it then the train serves that station. If it does not , wait till the next train. The sign refreshes for the next train once the current train pulls out of the station.

Note: Keep that ticket handy, you will need it when you exit at disney as well. Be sure to buy the correct ticket as the RER ticket as a standard metro ticket will not work for Disney. Irishrovr, another poster here has an excellent idea. Buy a 1 day mobilis pass for 5 zones. Total cost for the pass is 12.30 euros compared to 12.50 euros for a return trip to disney. The advantage to the mobilis pass is you can use it for the rest of the day once you have returned to Paris for any bus or metro ride.

MorganB, you are a gem! Thankyou. Thankyou. Thankyou. Those instructions are exactly what I need; and I will certainly buy a Mobilis 1 day pass - as suggested.

Thanks again!

I%26#39;d make a single, tiny correction : everything is right in MorganB%26#39;s post... except the letter of the RER line, it%26#39;s A not B ! (RER B goes to CDG among other directions).

If your train happens to be a double-decker, be happy, they%26#39;re (nearly) air-conditioned !

YIKES Thanks SuperHD! What was I thinking! It must be the heat. Library sorry about that. Good catch SHD!
