Go to www.airport-shuttle.com
The rates look very cheap. Not sure if there are any restrictions though......

There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about shuttles. While some people have had great experiences, others have had horrendous experiences. It%26#39;s definitely personal preference whether you%26#39;d rather save money or save hassle. I personally don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ll take a shuttle again. Taxis are expensive, but after a long flight, I want to get to my hotel as quickly as possible. And on the return flight, I want to know that I%26#39;ll get to the airport on time.

Sorry I did not notice what others had written before me. I%26#39;ll take a look through the board.
Did your shuttle not show up?

Having used Parishuttle.com several times I will no longer recomend them. Their website apparently rejected my CC but they did not notify me so we got to CDG and no shuttle. I called them and they eventually did send a shttle for us and we had to pay the driver in cash. Good thing I had brought some Euros. There were 8 passengers in the Shuttle and we were dropped off last so it was a long ride. I really didn%26#39;t mind the long ride. it was kind of fun to meet the other passengers.
The return trip to CDG was a joke. It was snowing that day. We were picked up first by an Indian driver who proceeded to leave us waiting in the shuttle for 30 minutes outside of a hotel where apparently the people were not ready. This caused us to stress about missing our flight. Then he got on the freeway and was apparently not accustomed to driving in snow and proceed to travel at about 30 miles per hour. Cars were swerving and honking. I was scared to death. The driver did not speak English or French.
Well, we made it to the airport only to find our flight was also delayed due to the weather. It was a really long day.
Then a few months ago I booked them again for some elderly realitives and that%26#39;s another horrer story.
So I have to say I%26#39;m done with shuttles.

Such a shame Suzanne. I was hoping a shuttle was an easy and quick way (cheap!) into the city. I guess I was wrong. Anyone here ever have a good experience with a shuttle?

The strange thing is that I used the same company for 5 years in a row and never had a problem until this past year. I wonder if the company is under new management.

Peter, no need to apologize. Every post gets different responses.
Our shuttle showed up very late, kept calling to say they would be there in a few minutes and that we would be the only passengers. When it finally arrived 45 minutes late, the driver had to drop off a couple, who also weren%26#39;t happy that they had been driven all around Paris before being dropped off at their hotel.
I don%26#39;t have any horror stories, though others on this forum do. I just find that shuttles in the U.S. are not reliable either. They tend not to show up, or to show up late. And the one we took in Paris required advance payment through the Internet. So you don%26#39;t have the option of saying forget it, I%26#39;ll take a cab, when the shuttle is a no-show.
Again, many people don%26#39;t have any problems. It%26#39;s just personal preference.

Peter, we%26#39;ve had many very good experiences with PariShuttle, but we%26#39;ve also had three HORRIBLE experiences recently. And those HORRIBLE experiences really negate all the previous positive ones. We%26#39;re diehard taxi fans from here on out.

We used Yellow Shuttle arranged through our hotel. they were excellent in meeting us at the airport and also in picking us up at our hotel on time on our return.
Going from CDG we were the only passengers and it was 26 euros per person. Since there was a great deal of traffic with the morning rush hour, it took 45 minutes. Returning there were other people from our hotel and it was cheaper at 16 euros per person. Much less traffic.
If you are staying at a hotel why don%26#39;t you check with them as to what they would suggest.
|||
It%26#39;s all a matter of personal choice what type of transportation you favor. But I%26#39;ve read about too many bad incidents with shuttles. I have not had a good experience using a shuttle either. Some prefer to use the public transportation or the Air France buses. I prefer taking a legitimate taxi (Taxi Parisien) that you can find outside the airport%26#39;s exit doors. Your hotel (if you are staying at one) can reserve a taxi for your return to the airport the day before you depart.
Personally I would not suggest you ask your hotel about what they suggest because I%26#39;ve been quoted by various hotels private car services which cost much more than a taxi. Either that or the hotels recommend shuttles that they deal with. Again you deal with shuttles and it can either be a good or a bad experience.

Peter, shuttles are fine in a North American environment (large distances, poor public transport), but in Europe, where airports are generally closer to city centers and are linked by public tranport to the said centers, they are just an awkward transplant that never really caught on... because there is no niche for it in the market. Only American tourists who think that everything abroad should be %26quot;like home%26quot; use them. I don%26#39;t know of a single French/European person who uses them.
