Bit of a strange request, but I%26#39;m looking for any trendy bars in central Paris that have some sort of Oriental theme (equivalent to e.g. Hakkasan or Ping Pong in London)
It would be helpful if they have a private room/area for hire, but not essential. It%26#39;s for holding some focus groups.
It doesn%26#39;t matter whether it%26#39;s a standalone bar, or whether it%26#39;s attached to a restaurant or hotel. It just needs to have a very %26#39;premium%26#39; feel and be Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese etc themed.
I have already been recommended Kong and Buddha bar - does anyone have any other ideas?
thanks for your help

Have you tried checking the latest Timeout Guide (or if it no longer exists - I vaguely recall a post that suggested someone had taken it over) the replacement. Otherwise, some of the really %26quot;trendy%26quot; regulars like kdksaid or bobsadcsamo will no doubt have their own opinions of the really trendy Asian places. Good luck

thanks faux, i%26#39;m checking out the online version of timeout - but it seems a bit impenetrable without reading every single bar review (there are loads of them!)

I am sorry I could not help more. Are you looking for a location with an Asian theme or an Asian bar? If the latter, focus on the 13th (the Paris china town). Could I suggest you post a more specific new question that spells out your interest -eg %26quot;trendy Asian style bar in Paris%26quot; or people who look at the question will just be answering if they know the %26quot;latest%26#39; - and frankly, forums like these are unlikely to yield much that could really be called cutting edge in any style.

There might be something on this site. Click on %26quot;toutes les videos%26quot; for more and each one has a video. Akash in the 4th (2nd page) is probably not plush enough but I didn%26#39;t have time to look at the videos of others.

Definitely, the %26quot;China Club%26quot; on rue de Charenton in the 12th, a %26quot;French colonial Indochina%26quot; themed bar/restaurant favored by the media and advertising crowd.

fi, sorry I forgot to paste the link I was referring to

You also have the %26quot;Asian%26quot; on Avenue George V in the 8th, more of a restaurant than bar but they host a bar on the ground floor, nice decor the food is good without being expensive compared to the drinks, though with a very large selection.
