Is it out of the question to get an Iron from hotels in Paris? I want to take some dressy clothes for dinner, but they%26#39;ll look terrible by the time I get to paris.
If not, can anyone recommend a good, small travel iron that they use?
Thanks.

It depends on your hotel. We%26#39;ve had a trouser press in our room at one hotel, an iron at another, and neither at a few (might have been available, but we didn%26#39;t ask). You might try emailing your hotel to ask--I%26#39;m sure they would be happy to let you know one way or the other. Also, a lot of the hotels websites will tell you.

The French are addicted to 2 things - dry-cleaners shops and hardressers.
If you want something ironed and the the hotel doesnt have an iron (or an ironing service) then there will be a %26quot;pressing%26quot; (drycleaners) within a block.
Life is too short to iron - holidays doubley so!

!Hi *
Some hotels have a service whereby you can ask them to have your stuff ironed .Ask them and check out the possibilities.

In most hotels, if there is not an ironing board and iron in every room, you can acquire them on request. E-mail and ask about this. Note that usually the iron is not a steam iron, however.
I would recommend trying rolling up your garments at home, then placing them on a hanger and testing whether or not the wrinkle srelease when you hang them on a hanger in your shower at home...
If that doesn%26#39;t work, consider www.presentsforyou.com/wa222sefranzus.html
I much prefer this one to franzus.com/page/FOS/PROD/TRVL-APP/TS-183MS-1
But, both are lightweight, take up little space in your bag, and do an excellent job of removing wrinkles.
Note, however, that your best bet for a fancy Paris restaurant is likely black skirt/dress/slacks with a dressy top/sweater/jacket. Over many, many trips, I%26#39;ve found pieces that arrive in the suitcase with few wrinkles, not visible in the dim lighting...

and do the French all wear scarves even in the August heat?

I stopped using the hotel iron after my white shirt was messed up with rusted water in the iron.If you have to use their iron, make sure and purge it out before use.
