I%26#39;ve heard there are fabulous stores in Paris to find beautiful, classy lingerie. Anyone know of where to shop for it?

Your timing could not be better, as I just posed this question to ten Parisiennes and here is what they say:
The Galeries Lafayette is where you get the most variety and the view from the bra dept is spectacular.
La Perle is THE luxury brand of the moment, but Lise Charnel has great stuff that fits and wears well.
The Monoprix stores have some fun, affordable stuff, but less selection and there are several chains that you will see just about everywhere as you stroll the city.

agree with Phread about GL.
La PerlA and Lise CharMel !

That just may be THE Trip Advisor %26quot;quote of the month%26quot;!! LOL

Oh my gosh, first time I was at GL I thought I was in bra heaven ! There is a whole huge floor devoted to them, (and other beautiful lingerie). Don%26#39;t miss it!
There are also many small lingerie boutiques in Paris. I went to one on Blvd. St. Michelle in the Latin Quarter that was nice, but I have forgotten the name.

I found that even the bras (soutien-gorge) at Monoprix were nicer than anything I can find in the U.S.
Also found some nice lingerie at Etam. They have stores on rue de Rennes and Blvd St. Germain, I think.
None of it was cheap, it was much more expensive than what I pay in the U.S. But it was worth it!
Truffaut, how funny! I guess that remark strikes men differently than women!

My wife has always had good luck at Le BON MARCHE....but as previously noted, both Galleries Lafayette and Printemp are excellent too.
We%26#39;ve a friend who travels often and subscribes to the old ttheory of packing your oldest and rattiest underwear...and then tossing it into the trash after wearing...and purchasing new to replace it. She claims to have the most %26#39;..international..%26#39; lingerie drawer in town (and probably for a good many counties beyond). An %26#39;..inside joke..%26#39; is trying to guess which contry(s) she%26#39;s wearing based on her mood, She calims that when she wears the items, she has vidid recollections of the varying experiences all day long.---grim and somber--Russia; gay and carefree--France; dark and sultry Spain, et al. Where is gets tricky is when she %26#39;mixes%26#39;---her torso says one thing and her hips another...and if she%26#39;s wearing a skirt with a slip.....it can get very complicated.

one of my favourite brands is princesse tam tam, they must have it at galeries. la perla is beautiful but _extremly_ expensive. huit is nice also, aubade of course the classic one. princesse tam tam is not expensive and they have sexy things but also some with great prints, my favourite underwear are from them. they have many stores and are sold everywhere in big department stores. etam is more for young girl very cotton etc, girly prints but sometimes they have nice simple underwear. eres have some nice things but its just too expensive but nice and simple.
http://www.princessetam-tam.com/ click on collection printemps ete 2006 and then corseterie. then on each name to see the different forms and colors, i loooove this brand.
i also like valege because they have some beautiful stuffs (not everything) and its not expensive.

Hi, Alex!
I definitely defer to your advice on this topic. But I do want to say that I found a completely different selection at Etam in March -- not girly cotton stuff, but beautiful lacy underwear. Maybe the selection has changed?
|||
LoL KDK! That is great ;)
We found the best selections at the best prices at Etam - lots of very nice styles. We were in the one up north of Samaritaine, across the street from it (I think).

KDK...you made my day!
Media...like you, when Myles and I were at Etam in May, we found lots of different styles, and fairly reasonable prices. Yes, there were lots of things for the %26quot;younger%26quot; set, but we saw lots of variety.
