Hi lurtzy

- what exactly do you mean by %26quot;what is available%26quot; ?

How much time do you have in Paris ?

Hi GitteK - Since I only have 1 day in Paris, I wanted to get an idea of things that I would have time to see while I am there.

Following is a basic framework for your one day trip.

You’ll be arriving at the Gare du Nord. Exit the station from the northeast door and board the 42 city bus. You can buy a ticket from the driver.

You%26#39;ll pass the Opera Garnier and the Madeleine and go through the Place de la Concorde. Then it%26#39;s up up the Champs Elysses, past the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais with the Arc de Triomphe in the distance, then turning down Avenue Montaigne with its famous shops and the Plaza Athenee hotel before crossing on the Pont de Alma. Get off at the Eiffel Tower.

After seeing the tower, walk to the Seine and to the left and board the Batobus [www.batobus.com]. This is a water taxi making various stops, and the web site [and brochurre you will be given] will give various ideas as to what to see and do.

You will want to get down at some point to the Ile de la Cite, where Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle are located, and I would suggest ending your day in that area and taking the Metro [underground] to return to the gare.

Print out these two maps for the Cite and St. Michel Metro stations. Both have only one line, so you can’t go wrong. Board the train in the direction of Porte de Cignancourt.
