We are taking the chunnel from London to Paris. Our first time in Europe. Our Paris hotel is Henry IV Rive Gauche. My two sisters and I are in our 50%26#39;s, and are good walkers, but not great. What%26#39;s the best way to our hotel with luggage?

Take a taxi. When you arrive at the Gare du Nord in Paris, queue up for the taxi. After London, the ride will seem cheap by comparison, and you will get to look out the taxi window and ooh and aah.

We just returned and we also took the Eurostar from London to Paris. We arrived and walked right out the doors and went into the line which went very fast. There are people inside the train station as you approach the exit asking you if you need a taxi. Do not take a taxi from these people! Get in the line and all will be fine. Have an index card with the name and address of your hotel (unless you speak good French!) and it will help tremendously. Have a great trip!

Have you got any idea how rude you sound bob let the woman call it whatever she wants we all do what shes talking about. The forum is meant to be here to help people not belittle them!
|||
But it still sounds weird and nobody uses it...
|||
Have to agree with Bob on this one. Nobody has called it the chunnel in years and strictly speaking that was the name given to the tunnel itself as opposed to the passenger train services from London to the Continent (Eurostar) and the vehicle services from Ashford to Coquelles (Eurotunnel)

Bob
If you search on this site you will find Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche listed.

This made me laugh. In %26quot;Paris Deals%26quot; right below your post, it offers %26quot;Euro Chunnel for $90%26quot;. What do you care what anyone calls it? Does it set off a detonator in your head?
|||
Well, I agree with Bob. The chunnel, eurostar and chunnel tunnel are 3 different things, and using the correct name can only facilitate understanding.
You don%26#39;t call a spoon a ladle just because they%26#39;re similar, do you?
|||
Tinsie...what%26#39;s the difference between the 3?
