How would you tackle this journey?

We have been invited to stay with friends in Mohon, Brittany next weekend and plan to travel on the eurotunnel to Calais and then drive across.

We plan to stop overnight somewhere on the way there and on the way back and would like to make the journey and the stopovers as enjoyable as possible rather than an endurance event for our two teenage boys. We are on a limited budget because we have just come back from a week in Croatia!

Would welcome any ideas as to where to stay please and which route to take. I know it will be about a 5 1/2 hour drive in total for the most direct route.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

www.viamichelin.com will give you journey times %26amp; routes. Suggestions for stopovers are Rouen or Caen. If the boys are interested in motor racing, Le Mans might be worth a detour.

Thanks for the reply will now hunt for some accommodation in Rouen and Caen - makes life so much easier if you can narrow the searches.

Have not been camping for years but are you able to rent a fully equiped tent just for the night? Just a thought otherwise I think it will be an Ibis stop over.
