Do metro tickets expire?

Do metro tickets expire? (the individual ones for one ride) Found a few I had brought back with us in June 2005. Will they still be good this Sept?. Think we arrive on a Saturday, so will need some until we can purchase weekly passes.

Thanks Liz

I%26#39;m not aware of any official %26#39;policy%26#39; regarding the validity of tickets, but in my experience, you can still use them years after you%26#39;ve bought them.

I noticed that the colour of the tickets changes every now and then (once they were yellow, then green, then purple) but I don%26#39;t think that means anything.

JanToo is correct, they do not expire.

I have read that they can become %26#39;de magnetized%26#39; so take some care in storing them...

travelnutty is right, they can. If that happens you can exchange them at any ticket window for a replacement.

Your question is the reason why I always buy carnets of tickets. I only was able to spread out one carnet purchase over three trips! And the time period was about 2 years.

So yes, I think you should still be able to use the tickets.

Short answer : No. Purple tickets do not expire, but they%26#39;re not refundable.

Long answer : in 2003, fares were unified throughout the Ile-de-France transportation systems, and yellow/green older tickets expired.

I used green tickets very successfully last year!
