Hey Giant,

Before you visit the wineries and the caves, check with them to make sure they are open.

If you rent a car you can drive around the region on the Champagne route. The area is full of small, local producers that you are more than welcome to visit. In fact, November is a good time, because their busiest season is over and they may actually have the time to sit and chat with you about hteir production, their lives and France in general. It is a fun outing.

Otherwise, the larger houses should still have tours running, the cathedral in Reims is stunning anytime of year and there are many excellent places for a lunch that would be worth lingering over.

But if you take the trip to London, you could say you went through the chunnel. Upon arrival you could ride the London Eye, which to me a s super thrill. You could take a Thames boat trip and even visit the Tate Modern. All are within walking distance of Waterloo Station and the Eurostar. And there are some great places/pubs to eat before you return to Paris.

However, that said, with your short trip and Versaille etc, I would take the time to explore as much as Paris as you can. After all on a one off trip, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower is a must, as is Notre Dame, Ste Chappelle, etcetc.

Epernay and Rheims, visit Madame Veuve Cliquot and tell her to send me a magnum of her Le Grande dame.
