I am going to Cannes for the first time in late September.
Can anyone please tell me what the expected temperatures are like then? Rainfall?
Do I need a coat? I am a Florida girl so I am not used to being outdoors in temperatures lower than 60 degrees.
Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
Also, what is appropriate clothing for touring there during the day. Casual or not?
Evening - nice resturant wear .

The weather in Cannes in late September should still be quite comfortable, but bring a sweater for evenings and a light raincoat, just in case. Casual clothes will be fine, but if you%26#39;re going to a good restaurant in the evening you might want something a bit dressy. Cannes can be quite a showplace for fashion

Returned from Cannes this morning (21.7.06) You can wear virtually anything from the very smart to the almost missing. Depends where you go in the evening as to what you wear but for a lady I would think the term smart/casual would apply. I have been many times in May, June, July, August, Sept. and Sept. is perhaps about 70 degrees. I have just left the upper 80%26#39;s. I don%26#39;t think you would need a coat although perhaps a wrap would not go amiss late evening. You can check the weather through AOL weather. Type in Cannes and you get good results for the whole year. Take a trip on the train, it%26#39;s cheap and quick, but for the first time a guy tried to pick my pocket on the train. Only 10 minuites and you are in Juan les Pins or Antibes. On the Promenade you have Dior, Chanel, Gucci etc., so if you forget something you can always nip in a shop and buy it, but you will need a lot of cash. Careful with the taxis, I find they will %26#39;take you for a ride%26#39; money ways.
Lots of excellent small restaurants and cafes on the streets at the back of the Promenade. Have a nice holiday and good luck
