Just discovered that they have moved the statue of Venus di Milo. It is now located down the gallery a little ways on the left of Winged Victory and past the wonderful Apollo Gallery. I liked the old location much better but the bad part is, they won%26#39;t let you return to Winged Victory and go into the Italian painting area where Mona Lisa is located. You are herded in the opposite direction. So, if you want to see the %26quot;big three%26quot;, save Venus for last.

So, she%26#39;s up on the first floor now? Are they pretty much blocking any access back to the Denon through the Winged V bottle-neck? That%26#39;s very interesting. So do you think it would be best to come up on the West end of the Denon to see la Jaconde first, then the WV and finally over to Ms. Milo?? I%26#39;ll be doing the 10 minute Louvre in a few weeks with a friend, so you%26#39;re post, LP, is just the best ever.

I found the display of the VdM quite disappointing. I don%26#39;t know how it was before, so I only have the current placement ot comment on. After the multiple vantage points for Winged Victory and even the space to obseve the ML, I found the room showing the VdM had the worst bottle neck I experienced in the Louvre. I didn%26#39;t feel that I could spend any time admiring her, or get any distance to stand back and really look. It was the one exhibit where I just said forget it. The security folk were particularly snippy there too - don%26#39;t get me wrong, you couldn%26#39;t pay enough to do their job, but they were clearly having a bad day.

The Venus de Milo%26#39;s (and not %26quot;di Milo%26quot;, which is Italian) is temporary, as the room where it has been exhibited for decades is being renovated thanks to a corporate (Japanese) donation.
