Trip report from Discover

I received a series of postcards from Discover and thought shoesy, mignon, et al would enjoy her latest update (the are in SW France right now) I am posting this here just because the folks that know Discover come to this forum.

-They loved the Albi and the cathedral and it%26#39;s blue/gold original ceilings

-They loved Beynac and the hotel they found there. She says the rooms were huge and and the pool was great.

-They took a boat ride on the Dordogne river and saw three chateaux .

-They ate delicious sausage and smoked wild boar meat in Albi which they loved. Also had lunch at a wonderful place in Albi across from the Cathedral. They also had three wonderful meals at a resto called Tavern de la Rauparts (sp?) in Beynac.

-They watched the bastille day fireworks in Albi from the bridge over the Tarn river near the cathedral.

-They visited the old fortified city of Cordes and really enjoyed it. They also had a wonderful meal there too.

-When they left Albi they had a fender bender in the rental car and then in Lautrec someone hit THEM and drove away, so two incidents. No one is hurt but plenty of insurance issues to sort out.

-They then went to Collieore and the hotel there has a great pool but she said the 1/2 pension was terrible. She said the bread was so hard that she broke the brand new crown off her tooth that she had put on right before they left!

-Next stops: Perpignan and Andorra. They%26#39;ve met very few Americans but many British, Irish, Dutch and and Scottish tourists.

Hi there Mascara ! I see that Discover has been having all kinds of experiences, mostly pleasurable. I am convinced the positive ones are plentiful enough to make the negative ones seem bearable. I%26#39;m sure all the problems will be solved in the end, and I wish Discover and family many more days of great sight-seeing, fun and good food.
