The page I saw on a google search with this info dates back to 2002. Just wondering if one still exists. One person in our group will be craving after a week or so of French and Italian fare. Otherwise we%26#39;ll head to one of the places frequented by the Japanese tourists.

And why wouldnt you? When I eat Italian I look for places with Italian Clients - when I eat Chinese, I look for places with Chinese clients. Surely if you want sushi you should be looking for sushi eaten by Japnese? Otherwise you run the risk of just eating rice and seaweed prepared French style.

Well, my mom is the Japanese person here; my husband has already said he doesn%26#39;t want to eat Japanese while in Paris-he likes to %26quot;do as the Romasns do%26quot;(although we all like Japanese) and I thought we could find common ground at the food court in Galeries.

Matsura is a sushi chain that has restaurants throughout the city and sells boxes in some of the more upscale grocery stores. My guess is that this is what you will find at GL. The sushi is made daily, so it is fresh, but I really prefer going to one of the places on the rue Ste Anne.
Perhaps it will be easier for your husband to go if he knows that these can be interesting places for people watching as they are generally full of Jap. tourists, expats and LOT o%26#39; locals, which means he%26#39;ll be doing exactly as the Romans do!

Oh dear, coming all this way to Paris, gastronomic capital of Europe, so they say, and you want to eat Japanese? Why??!! [only joking].

I don%26#39;t remember for sure, but I would bet that yes, you can get it there. I remember the huge Indian food section there.

Hi,
The food served in Galeries Lafayette is quite revolting - very odd as French department stores/supermarket restaurants are usually very good. The Chinese restaurant is particularly awful, but the cafeteria is pretty bad too, (good views, though!)

Lafayette Gourmet has amazing food to try, but it is not a restaurant, just a quick bite.
