Last year in the beginning of june, we were at the beach / Promenade des Anglais. There we saw a shark fin, swimming along the beach just 10 - 20 meters from the shore. Is this %26quot;normal%26quot;; just curios if this happens a lot and if anyone local have some input of what kind of shark it could be.

The sharks that used to fill the bay a hundred or more years ago - squatelina angelus, angel shark, I think was the name after which the %26quot;Baie des Anges%26quot; was named - are still around but according to the books are night feeders, sit on the bottom of the sea floor in 30 metres depth and only eat other fish.
So no scenes from %26quot;Jaws%26quot; on the prom.I think what you saw was quite unusual.
The biggest problem recently are the jellyfish - purple stingers!
