Hey everyone i%26#39;m travelling by an overnight train from Paris to Rome. Has anyone else done this a good idea and safe?

Hi SL1985, The other thread that the previous poster has pointed you to will help you a lot...
But here%26#39;s my comments to add also... I travelled from Paris to Rome on the sleeper last year and loved every minute of it. It%26#39;s a wonderful way to travel and watch the countryside whizzing past. I also find it so much more stress free than travelling by plane. When you reach Rome, you%26#39;re literally right there with only short taxis rides to go anywhere. I travelled in a first class two person compartment with my husband. We had a lock on our door for when we were sleeping, so had no problems about safety. We also found it very sociable - we had dinner in the dining car and got talking to so many other people it was wonderful. The only thing I will say is that because it was such a novelty for me to sleep on a train, I really didn%26#39;t sleep much - I was too excited about pointing out all the stations that we were passing!
