Budget hotel near Roland Garros

Please suggest the best budget hotel that%26#39;s walking distance to Roland Garros?

Geminitraveller, I gather that the Square is in the 20th. This is not a popular area of Paris for tourists but some on this forum think it is a must to visit. This previous thread has at least one suggestion for a hotel in the area but not sure how close it is to Roland Garros. Do a search for %26quot;20th%26quot; and you might find something

Hi GT, it just occurred to me that you should post an new question with a title %26quot;Nice budget hotels in the 20th%26quot; or similar to get the best responses from those who know the area

|||

I believe Stade Roland Garros is on the 16th. Just want to get some feedback from those who have stayed at budget hotels near the area during the French Open season. Thanks

Sorry GT, I assumed that you were looking for a street of that name - the only one of that name was the Square Roland Garros - I didn%26#39;t realise there was also a sports stadium of that name but then I am so uninterested in any kind of sport that this is not surprising. I just checked mappy and it says the stade Rolland Garros is at 2, avenue Gordon Bennett, 75016 Paris, M° Porte d%26#39;Auteuil

It is right near the the porte d%26#39;Auteuil near the ring road that circles the 20 arrondissements on the outer edge of the 16th. I hope someone knows a nice hotel to stay in that area.

Thanks Faux for the info. I am not very familiar with the area and any info on the accommodations there will be appreciated. Want to know also the attractions near by. Is the Musee Marmottan a good place to visit and is it near the stadium?

Hi Geminitraveller, the Musee Marmottan is at 2, rue Louis-Boilly, also near the the ring road in the 16th but between Porte de Passy and Porte de la Muette.

According to the pedestrian itinerary I checked on www8.mappy.com (a useful tool) it is only 1km or 20 mins walk from the Place de la Porte d%26#39;Auteuil which seems to be the closest metro to the Stade RG.

The only nice reasonably budget hotel (this is the 16th after all - single room 115 to 120 Euros and double 120 to 130 Euros approx - all including breakfast) that I know of that is fairly easily accessible to the stade is the Hammeau de Passy at 46 rue de Passy. From there you can take a metro from Metro la Muette to Metro Michel Ange Auteuil on line 9 (Direction Pont de Sevres) and walk about 500m to the Stade or change to line 10 (Direction Boulogne Porte St Cloud) for one stop to Metro Porte d%26#39;Auteuil at Place de la Porte d%26#39;Auteuil and walk about 200 to 250 metres. Mappy says that it is about 2 kms walk (35 minutes or so) from the hotel to the Place de la Porte d%26#39;Auteuil, so you should be able to walk from the hotel to the Stade in about 45 minutes. Here is the hotel%26#39;s site:
