antibes plagues

Hello!

I´m thinking to go for holidays to Antibes. I´m trying to know how many plages has Antibes and which one is the best.

I looked photos and I thing that the plage has stones?

I go to Antipolis camping. Do you know something about this?

Thank you for your help.

Antibes Beaches

Lifted from my Antibes pages on VirtualTourist - %26quot;Antibes for Dummmies%26quot; - more here: members.virtualtourist.com/m/6cdeb/21dd2/

Antibes has four main beaches.

Directly through the portal of the old city walls at Port Vauban is the sheltered bay and popular beach La Gravette. Handy to retreat from to nearby restaurants and bars.

A short walk down from old Antibes down Av Amiral de Grasse around the rocky city outlet brings you to the modern Plage de Peilon. Fine yellow sand which shelves gently into the sea is perfect for families, and is served by kiosks serving cold drinks and sandwiches.

Further down the Boulevard James Wyllie the Plage Sallis continues as far as a small fishing boat harbour which marks the end of the bay. All the while the entire sea front of Antibes is public - no private beach clubs sunbeds or parasol hire. And the municipality provide frequent showers, and theres a reasonable loo at Sallis

Walk further past Pointe Bacon some 2 km and discover Antibes %26quot;fourth beach%26quot; Plage de la Garoupe - much more %26quot;exclusive%26quot; but dominated by one beach club, though still some public area.

Cheers

Sorry - forgot your question about stones - no, the beaches at Antibes are all fine sand

The photos you might have looked would probably be of the beach stretching from Fort Carré to Villeneuve Loubet - and the other stoney beach is next to the Gravette. L%26#39;Ilette and its Plage Ponteil is pleasant - at its top end, nearer to thetown , is the private beach - Plage Royale - good restaurant there, too! Plage Salis has several beach kiosks for the hungry and thirsty - Chez Josy is my favourite - brilliant Pain Bagnats!

Further along the Cap d%26#39;Antibes, at la Garoupe, there are several private beaches, and also one public one.

Can%26#39;t help re the camping - not my style, I%26#39;m afraid!
