Notre Dame gargoyles

Anyone remember what time they start letting people in to walk up to the top? Every time I%26#39;ve tried to go there%26#39;s a long line waiting to get in. We%26#39;ve got some friends going who%26#39;d like to get there the earliest they can and avoid the crowds. Thanks!

You should find all details on the Notre-Dame (also known as %26#39;cathedrale de Paris%26#39;) web page.

When I was there in April, 10:00 a.m.

I went up last October - the starting time was 9:00am, although it was actually a few more minutes before they opened the door. We got there at 8:35am and were the 3rd and 4th in line. They only allow 20 at a time, so get there early to be in the first group. The line just grows from then on. The other reason is because the sun comes up behind you, therefore the photos over the Seine and beyond will be in the light, rather than the sun being in your camera.

Do refer to the website advised above - that is where I read it was 9:00am (which may depend on the season or something). Right now, it%26#39;s saying 9:30.
