Thanks so much, my son came to my rescue and found it for me, as I am quite computer illiterate but TA has helped get me into the computer age. Thanks for those sites, I will check them out.

Hi Feltmates, the location of this hotel is wonderful. But you should know that the hotel asks for a non-refundable deposit upon booking your reservation.
As a suggestion you may want to investigate two other Ile St. Louis hotels: Hotel de Lutece and Hotel des Deux Iles both owned by the same owner. I%26#39;ve stayed at both and recommend either one. The Hotel de Lutece was renovated earlier this year.

Paris 1204, thank you for this, I have written Letuce but haven%26#39;t had a response yet. Still waiting.

Hotel Lutece, sorry for the spelling. Hotel St. Louis is booked solid for our dates anyway. But good to know about the non-refundable deposit.

Question about the Hotel de Lutece...the reviews of it complain a lot about noise. Paris 1204, did you have a problem w/ noise there?

Hi Feltmates, sorry. I have to retract what I wrote about the Hotel Saint Louis%26#39; %26#39;non-refundable deposit%26#39;. I emailed them to be sure if there is any possibility of getting a refund. They said if you cancel 14 days prior to arrival you will be refunded, but the deposit is charged immediately when you book.
Les68, as to the Lutece, they sometimes don%26#39;t reply right away. You can always send a second request email to your inquiry. We didn%26#39;t have a streetside room at the Lutece, but I had one at the Deux Iles their sister hotel. We heard just a few people talking really loud and laughing early one morning (2 a.m. or so) on the sidewalk below.
Trini4life, I%26#39;m sorry, but I am not familiar with the Derby Elysees. Maybe someone else can reply to your question.

We have stayed at the Lutece on quite a few occasions. (Needless to say, we love it!). We%26#39;ve stayed in rooms in all locations within the hotel but have discovered that we like the rooms on the front, overlooking the street the best. Yes, when the huge windows are open you can hear the street noise. However, when closed, you don%26#39;t hear a thing! In summer, I would imagine you%26#39;d use the air conditioning and thus, the windows would be closed. As well, in the winter, you%26#39;d have them closed to keep out the cold. In spring and fall, we%26#39;ve opened them to let in the cool night air, but then closed them just before going to sleep. We love this hotel and I hope you will as well! Nathalie and Thierry, who are the ones who most likely will respond to your email, are both quite kind and will do anything you ask of them. Bon Voyage!
