4th, 5th, or 6th districts

I am looking at some hotels, most notable the Bassano and Le Walt, yet an expert in Paris lodging has said that it is in neighborhoods that are a little quiet at night and recommended the 4th, 5th and 6th districts.

The Bassano is near a metro station- do the trains run 24/7 and are they relatively safe?

Also, can anyone recommend a charming, quaint hotel with large rooms in any of these more active districts that are in the $200-250 price range?

Thanks!!!

Trains run between 5:00 am and 1:00 am (12:30 on some lines).

Yes they are safe for the most part. They are crowded at rush hour and you have the usual pickpockets to watch for.

I prefer the 6th to the 5th or 4th.

Ckeck rates at Relais Christine on rue Christine. Plenty of charm. Or Hotel d%26#39;Angleterre on rue Jacob.

I would not consider the 5th to be quiet at night--it%26#39;s pretty

You might take a look at Le Ste-Beuve, in the 6th near the Luxembourg Gardens. It%26#39;s quite near a métro station and a very charming small notel. The price should fit your price range.
