Hello,
Curious what all those that frequent Paris think of this deal I got through Travelocity:
-Two roundtrip direct flights from NY to Paris
-1 week in Paris in November at the Wilson Hotel, Queen sized bed w/ Garden view
For $1400.
Good?

Does that include all taxes? It looks like a great deal to me! The Wilson Hotel appears to run around $100.00 per night normally - so that is $700 right there for 7 nights (or $600 for 6 nights). Then your air - I%26#39;d say it%26#39;s a deal.
You would need to take a train and metro to get to the city center.

Yes that includes all taxes.
About how far would it be to the city center? Is the hotel in a bad area/good area?
|||
Please forgive my ignorance in this situation but you say we would need to take a train AND metro to get to the city center? Are they one and the same or two different things in Paris? I figure probably about a 20 min. ride to city center from the Wilson, sound abour right?
Thanks!

Hotel Wilson is not actually in Paris - it is in a suburb called Asnieres-sur-Seine. You%26#39;d probably take a regular train into Paris, then use the metro to fine-tune your intercity travels.
It%26#39;s supposed to be a nice area, just not very convenient for sightseeing.
Go here:
www.hotelwilson.com/hotelwilson/index.cfm…
and click on the map link... Paris (all the parts you care about) are situated inside the %26#39;ring road%26#39;.

Thank you so much Travelnutty, that helps incredibly!!
Do you have any idea of how late these types of trains would run? Are we in trouble (expensive??$$) to get back to the hotel at night after hours?
Can one buy a weekly sort of pass for these trains as one would for the metro system?
Thanks!

Asnieres to Paris arrives at Gare St Lazare and takes about 8-10 minutes. You can buy a Carte Orange weekly pass for zones 1-3 for about 22€, bring a small head photo - the pass is good Monday-Sunday. If that doesn%26#39;t fit, you can buy a %26quot;carnet%26quot; of single tickets ( a pack of 10) for zones 1-3 for around 17€
Prices and schedules can be found by using these websites:
(some only have the info you want on the French version)
www.ratp.fr
www.sncf.com
www.transilien.com
There is a possibility of the bus system working well, but I%26#39;m less familiar with using the bus outside of Paris to get to Paris.
